Coach and Educator
Greg graduated from Carleton College in 2001 with a degree in biology and a secondary teaching license. He was a summer swim coach and a high school science teacher until 2003. At that point Greg joined Ben Popp and learned the cycling aerodynamic and positioning techniques of John Cobb. During this time Greg was initially exposed to providing athletes with individualized triathlon training plans and race day technical advice. In 2004 Greg took his passion for teaching and living an active lifestyle to the Rockies Mountains and has been a ski and snowboard instructor with Aspen Ski Company since. He has also worked as a physical therapy assistant which taught him about the rehabilitation process of varies injuries. Greg has pursued continuing education by receiving his USA Cycling coaching license, becoming a NSCA certified personal trainer, and becoming a fully certified snowboard instructor with the PSIA/AASI.

Athlete
As a native of Minnesota, Greg began nordic skiing before he can remember and joined a competitive swim team at the age of five. As a nordic skier, Greg received All-State honors his senior year of high school and two All-American honors at NCSA Nationals in 1999 while attending Carleton College. During his freshman year of college, Greg discovered his passion for triathlons and has since represented the USA at Short Course World Championships in New Zealand and finished two Ironman Triathlons. Triathlons bring out Greg’s athletic diversity but also highlight his swimming background as seen by his exits from the water in the leading pack at most triathlons. Greg continues to compete in triathlon, running, cycling, and nordic skiing while expanding his endurance athletic events to include winter uphill and mountaineering events.
